Solving the Mystery No 2 – Sailing Away

Gordon sailed to England on 14 February 1886.  He was on board the Hesperus, commanded by his step-father.  Gordon’s mother had married Captain Thomas Row Harry two days before they left Port Adelaide, Australia for their new home in St Ives, Cornwall.  This advertisement for the Hesperus is from the South Australian Register, 7 January 1889:

The Hesperus arrived in London on 12 June 1886.  Gordon’s home became 10 Barnoon Terrace, St Ives, Cornwall until some time after August 1895.  My search continues for his name on a passenger list for his journey back to Australia, where he was studying at the School of Mines in Adelaide in 1899.
